Refund and Return Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

At Al Haq Law Book Centre, we carefully inspect and pack every order before dispatch. This policy explains the conditions and procedure for returns, exchanges, replacements and refunds.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights available to customers under applicable consumer law.

1. Reporting damaged, defective or incorrect items

Customers must contact us within 48 hours of delivery if:

  • The wrong book or edition was delivered.
  • A book arrived damaged.
  • A book contains a confirmed printing or binding defect.
  • An item is missing from the parcel.
  • The delivered product is materially different from the confirmed order.

Claims submitted after 48 hours may not be accepted unless required under applicable law.

2. Mandatory unboxing video

A clear, continuous unboxing video is required to verify claims involving:

  • Transit damage
  • Missing items
  • Incorrect books or editions
  • Printing or binding defects visible when the parcel is opened

The video must:

  • Begin before the original courier packaging is opened.
  • Show the parcel in its sealed condition.
  • Clearly show the shipping label.
  • Show the complete opening of the parcel without cuts or pauses.
  • Clearly show all books and their condition.

Customers should not stop, edit or combine clips during the recording.

Where the courier does not allow a parcel to be opened before acceptance, the customer should accept the parcel and record the unboxing immediately afterwards.

A claim may be rejected where the supplied video does not clearly establish the reported problem, subject to applicable law.

3. Change-of-mind or incorrect-selection returns

A customer may request a return because of a change of mind, accidental ordering or incorrect selection within 3 calendar days of delivery.

Such a return will be considered only where:

  • The book is completely unused.
  • The book is in its original, brand-new and resaleable condition.
  • There are no handwritten names, notes, pencil marks, highlights, ink marks or stamps.
  • There is no spine damage, folded corner, torn cover, moisture damage or other deterioration.
  • Any original packaging, accessories or accompanying material are included.
  • Proof of purchase is available.
  • The customer provides clear photographs or a video showing the current condition of the book.

For customer-initiated returns:

  • The customer is responsible for return courier charges.
  • Original delivery charges are non-refundable.
  • Any advance delivery charges already used for dispatch are non-refundable.
  • The return must be approved before the parcel is sent.

4. Items not eligible for return

A return or exchange may be refused where:

  • The return request is submitted outside the applicable reporting period.
  • The book has been read, used, marked, highlighted or written on.
  • The customer’s name or another marking has been added to the book.
  • Pages, covers, binding or the spine have been damaged after delivery.
  • The item is returned without prior approval.
  • The item is returned without adequate protective packaging.
  • The product is incomplete or missing accompanying material.
  • The returned item does not match the item originally supplied.
  • The reported damage is not visible in the required unboxing evidence.
  • The customer ordered the correct item but returns it in a condition unsuitable for resale.

The customer may be required to:

  1. Print the supplied label.
  2. Attach it securely to the return parcel.
  3. Pack the book safely.
  4. Hand the parcel to the authorised courier rider.

Where reverse pickup is not available, we will provide alternative approved return-shipping instructions.

The customer must not send a parcel using an unapproved courier or address unless instructed by Al Haq Law Book Centre.

  • The wrong book
  • The wrong edition
  • A damaged item

we will arrange an appropriate replacement, exchange or refund and bear the reasonable approved return-shipping cost.

Customer-initiated returns

Where the return is caused by:

  • Change of mind
  • Accidental ordering
  • Incorrect customer selection
  • Failure to review the title or edition before ordering

the customer must pay the applicable return-shipping charges before pickup or return processing.

8. Safe return packaging

The customer is responsible for packing the book securely for the return journey.

Books should be protected from:

  • Water or moisture
  • Bending
  • Pressure damage
  • Torn packaging
  • Spine or corner damage

If an item is damaged during the return journey because of insufficient packaging, the return, exchange or refund may be rejected.

9. Inspection of returned items

All returned items are inspected after reaching our office:

Al Haq Law Book Centre

7-A Turner Road
Lahore High Court
Lahore, Pakistan

The inspection may verify:

  • Product identity
  • Book condition
  • Missing pages or material
  • Marks, highlighting or handwriting
  • Cover, spine and binding condition
  • Packaging condition
  • Whether the returned item matches the supplied product

Approval of a return request does not automatically guarantee a refund. Final approval is subject to physical inspection of the returned product.

10. Replacements and exchanges

Where an approved claim involves an incorrect, damaged or defective item, we may offer:

  • Replacement with the correct item
  • Exchange for an available equivalent item
  • Store credit, with the customer’s agreement
  • Refund where replacement is not reasonably available

Replacement remains subject to product availability.

Where the requested edition is unavailable, we will contact the customer before sending any alternative edition.

11. Refund processing

Approved refunds will normally be processed within 10 business days after:

  1. The returned item reaches our office.
  2. Physical inspection is completed.
  3. The refund is approved.

Refunds may be issued through:

  • The original electronic payment method, where available
  • Bank transfer
  • Easypaisa
  • JazzCash

For Cash on Delivery orders, approved refunds will be issued through bank transfer, Easypaisa or JazzCash using the account details provided by the customer.

The customer is responsible for providing correct refund-account information. Al Haq Law Book Centre will not be responsible for delays caused by incomplete or incorrect account details.

12. Delivery charges and deductions

Original delivery charges are non-refundable for customer-initiated returns.

Where the return is caused by our confirmed error or a damaged, incorrect or defective product, Al Haq Law Book Centre will cover the applicable approved delivery and return-shipping charges.

Any unpaid return-shipping charge, courier charge or other authorised deduction may be deducted from a customer-initiated refund after informing the customer.

13. Order cancellation

An order may be cancelled before dispatch by contacting us promptly.

Once an order has been dispatched:

  • Cancellation is not guaranteed.
  • Courier charges already incurred may be non-refundable.
  • Advance delivery charges may be retained where they have already been used for dispatch.
  • Refusing delivery without prior approval may be treated as an unauthorised return.

14. Orders confirmed through phone or WhatsApp

Availability, edition details, delivery charges and payment arrangements may be confirmed through phone or WhatsApp before dispatch.

Customers should review the confirmed title, edition, quantity, price and delivery details before approving the order.

Where a customer approves the confirmed order details and the same product is supplied correctly, change-of-mind rules and customer-paid return shipping will apply.
