Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the website, online store, products and related services operated by Al Haq Law Book Centre.

Throughout these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Al Haq Law Book Centre. “You” and “customer” refer to any person who visits the website, places an order, creates an account, submits a review or otherwise uses our services.

By accessing this website, submitting an order or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund and Return Policy and Shipping Policy.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

1. Our online store

Our online store is hosted and powered by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform through which we offer our products and services.

We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of the website where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, operational or business reasons.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available without interruption, delay or technical error.

2. Eligibility and customer information

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You are legally capable of entering into the transaction.
  • The telephone number, WhatsApp number, email and delivery address supplied are correct.
  • You are authorised to use the selected payment method.
  • You will notify us promptly if any order information needs correction.

We may contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email to verify your order, product selection, edition, availability, delivery charges or payment arrangement.

We may refuse, hold or cancel an order where customer information appears incomplete, incorrect, fraudulent or unverifiable.

3. Products and book information

We sell and distribute products including:

  • Bare Acts
  • Pocket-size Bare Acts
  • Commentary books
  • Legal manuals
  • Examination sets
  • Legal reference books
  • Publications produced by Al Haq Law Book Centre
  • Publications supplied by third-party publishers

We make reasonable efforts to display accurate product titles, covers, authors, publishers, editions, prices, descriptions and availability.

However:

  • Product images may appear slightly different because of screen settings, photography or packaging changes.
  • Publishers may change covers, bindings, printing styles or packaging without prior notice.
  • Minor variations that do not materially change the ordered title or edition may occur.
  • Product information may occasionally contain typographical or administrative errors.
  • Availability may change before dispatch.
  • An edition described as new or current is subject to confirmation before dispatch.

Where edition details are important, customers should review the product information and the confirmation provided before approving the order.

4. Legal-information disclaimer

Legal books, Bare Acts, commentaries, manuals and other materials sold by Al Haq Law Book Centre are supplied for educational, academic, professional and reference purposes.

They do not constitute legal advice from Al Haq Law Book Centre.

Laws, rules, regulations, notifications, amendments and judicial interpretations may change after a book is printed or published. Customers are responsible for confirming whether the material remains current and applicable to their specific circumstances.

Customers should consult a qualified legal professional and verify the latest official legal material before relying on a publication for a legal proceeding, professional opinion or important decision.

Al Haq Law Book Centre is not responsible for a legal, professional, academic or financial decision made solely in reliance on a book or other material purchased from the store, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Orders and order confirmation

Submitting an order through the website does not automatically mean that the order has been finally accepted or dispatched.

Before dispatch, we may confirm:

  • Product title
  • Edition
  • Quantity
  • Availability
  • Price
  • Delivery address
  • Delivery charges
  • Advance courier charges
  • Cash on Delivery amount
  • Payment arrangement

An order is accepted when we confirm it and begin processing or dispatching it.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where:

  • The product is unavailable.
  • The requested edition is unavailable.
  • The listed price contains an obvious error.
  • The customer cannot be contacted for confirmation.
  • Required advance delivery charges are not paid.
  • The delivery address is incomplete or unsupported.
  • The order appears fraudulent or abusive.
  • The requested quantity is unavailable.
  • Dispatch is not reasonably possible.

If payment has already been received for a cancelled order, the applicable amount will be refunded according to the circumstances and our Refund and Return Policy.

6. Prices and discounts

Prices are displayed in Pakistani Rupees unless stated otherwise.

We may change product prices without prior notice. A price change will not normally affect an order that has already been confirmed, except where:

  • The displayed price was an obvious error.
  • The customer changes the product, edition or quantity.
  • The order was not yet confirmed.
  • Delivery charges or payment arrangements change with the customer’s approval.

A compare-at price, crossed-out price or discount will only be displayed where configured for the relevant product.

Discount codes:

  • Must be entered in the appropriate checkout field.
  • May be subject to expiry dates and usage limits.
  • May apply only to selected products or customers.
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • May not be combined unless expressly permitted.
  • May be cancelled where used fraudulently or contrary to their conditions.

7. Payment methods

Available payment methods may include:

  • Cash on Delivery
  • Bank transfer
  • Easypaisa
  • JazzCash
  • Any other method confirmed by us

The website currently does not collect complete payment-card details directly on behalf of Al Haq Law Book Centre unless a supported payment gateway is activated and clearly displayed at checkout.

We may require advance payment of delivery charges before dispatch. The remaining product amount may be collected through Cash on Delivery where available.

For full advance payments, an order will normally be processed after the payment is verified.

Customers must provide accurate payment references and should not send sensitive banking passwords, PINs or full payment-card details through WhatsApp, email or contact forms.

8. Shipping and delivery

Delivery times shown on the website or communicated by us are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.

Delivery may be affected by:

  • Courier operations
  • Public holidays
  • Weather
  • Strikes
  • Remote-area access
  • Security restrictions
  • Incorrect addresses
  • Customer unavailability
  • Events beyond our reasonable control

We may use M&P or another suitable authorised courier or delivery service.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing a complete delivery address.
  • Providing an active telephone number.
  • Responding to courier calls.
  • Ensuring someone is available to receive the parcel.
  • Paying the applicable Cash on Delivery amount.

A delay caused solely by a courier or an event outside our reasonable control does not automatically entitle the customer to compensation, subject to applicable law.

9. Parcel opening and unboxing evidence

Courier riders may not permit parcels to be opened before acceptance and payment.

Customers should:

  1. Inspect the external parcel for visible damage.
  2. Accept the parcel according to the courier’s process.
  3. Record a clear and continuous unboxing video before opening the original sealed packaging.
  4. Show the shipping label, sealed condition, contents and reported problem in the video.

A valid unboxing video is required to verify claims involving:

  • Missing products
  • Incorrect products or editions
  • Transit damage
  • Visible printing or binding defects

Detailed claim conditions and reporting periods are stated in our Refund and Return Policy.

10. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Orders may be cancelled before dispatch by contacting us promptly.

Once an order has been dispatched:

  • Cancellation is not guaranteed.
  • Courier costs already incurred may be non-refundable.
  • Advance delivery charges may be retained where used for dispatch.
  • Refusing delivery without prior approval may be treated as an unauthorised return.

Returns, exchanges, replacement requests and refunds are governed by our published Refund and Return Policy.

By placing an order, you agree to review and follow that policy, including requirements concerning:

  • Reporting deadlines
  • Unboxing evidence
  • Product condition
  • Return approval
  • Secure return packaging
  • Courier charges
  • Inspection
  • Refund processing

Where these Terms conflict with the Refund and Return Policy on a return-specific matter, the Refund and Return Policy will apply to that matter.

11. Product availability and inventory

A product marked “In stock” is expected to be available based on the information currently recorded by us.

A product marked “Available on order” may require confirmation or additional preparation before dispatch.

A product marked “Sold out” is not presently available for purchase.

Inventory information may change before an order is confirmed. If a selected product becomes unavailable, we may:

  • Cancel the affected item.
  • Offer an alternative edition.
  • Suggest a comparable product.
  • Wait for restocking with the customer’s approval.
  • Refund an amount already paid for the unavailable item.

No replacement or alternative edition will be sent without customer confirmation where the difference is material.

12. Product reviews and customer content

Customers may submit ratings, reviews, photographs or other feedback through Judge.me or another review service.

By submitting content, you confirm that:

  • It reflects your genuine experience.
  • It is not false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful.
  • It does not infringe another person’s rights.
  • It does not contain malware, spam or unauthorised advertising.
  • You have permission to submit any included image or material.

We may moderate, reject or remove content that:

  • Relates to the wrong product.
  • Contains abusive or unlawful material.
  • Reveals private information.
  • Appears fraudulent or manipulated.
  • Violates these Terms.

Reviews may publicly display the submitted name, a partial name, verification status or “Anonymous”, depending on the review service and privacy settings.

We will not alter the substance of a genuine review merely because it is negative, although we may remove prohibited personal information or unlawful content.

13. Intellectual property

The website design, branding, logos, original photographs, graphics, written product descriptions and other original content created or owned by Al Haq Law Book Centre are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not, without permission:

  • Reproduce our original publications for commercial distribution.
  • Copy substantial original website content.
  • Use our logo or branding in a misleading way.
  • Upload or distribute unauthorised digital copies of our books.
  • Present our original content as your own.
  • Use automated systems to extract substantial portions of the website for unauthorised commercial use.

Rights in books supplied by third-party publishers remain with their respective authors, publishers or other lawful rights holders.

Nothing in these Terms claims ownership over material that legally belongs to the Government, another publisher, an author or another rights holder.

Suspected infringement may be investigated and addressed through the remedies available under applicable law.

14. Acceptable use

You must not use the website or services:

  • For an unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
  • To submit false customer, payment or delivery information.
  • To interfere with website security or operation.
  • To introduce malware, viruses or harmful code.
  • To scrape or extract data in an abusive manner.
  • To impersonate another person.
  • To infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  • To harass staff, customers or other users.
  • To place fraudulent orders or abuse Cash on Delivery.
  • To manipulate ratings, reviews, discounts or promotions.

We may restrict access, cancel orders or take other reasonable action where these Terms are violated.

15. Third-party services and links

The website may contain links to or integrations with services operated by third parties, including:

  • Shopify
  • Judge.me
  • Courier services
  • Payment services
  • WhatsApp
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Advertising and analytics platforms

These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, security, accuracy or independent conduct of a third-party website or service, except to the extent required by applicable law.

A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse every statement or service provided by the third party.

16. Errors and corrections

We reserve the right to correct:

  • Typographical errors
  • Product-description errors
  • Pricing errors
  • Availability errors
  • Collection or category errors
  • Technical display errors

Where an error materially affects an order, we will contact the customer before proceeding where reasonably possible.

We may cancel an affected order where the error cannot reasonably be corrected, and any applicable payment already received will be handled according to the circumstances.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

We aim to provide the website and services with reasonable care and skill.

However, subject to applicable law, we do not guarantee that:

  • The website will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Every product will remain continuously available.
  • Search results will always be complete.
  • Every publication will include every subsequent legal amendment.
  • Third-party services will always operate without interruption.
  • Website information will be free from every minor typographical error.

Any warranty or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded remains unaffected.

18. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Al Haq Law Book Centre will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising solely from:

  • A customer’s misuse of the website.
  • Reliance on legal material without checking current law.
  • Incorrect customer-provided information.
  • Unauthorised access caused by a customer failing to protect account credentials.
  • Delays outside our reasonable control.
  • Independent third-party services.

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or another obligation imposed by applicable law.

Where we are responsible for a confirmed incorrect, damaged or defective item, the available remedy will normally be replacement, exchange or refund according to the Refund and Return Policy and applicable law.

19. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses or reasonable costs caused by your unlawful use of the website, your infringement of another person’s rights or your material violation of these Terms.

This section does not make a customer responsible for losses caused by Al Haq Law Book Centre or for rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

21. No waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we permanently waive the right to enforce it later.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in:

  • Our services
  • Store functionality
  • Payment methods
  • Courier arrangements
  • Business operations
  • Applicable legal or regulatory requirements

The revised Terms will be published on the website with an updated “Last updated” date.

Changes will not normally alter an order that was already confirmed before the updated Terms took effect, except where required by law or agreed with the customer.

23. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any separate agreement through which we provide services are governed by the applicable laws of Pakistan.

Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdictional rights, disputes relating to these Terms or our services will be subject to the competent courts in Lahore, Pakistan.

Before starting formal proceedings, the parties should make a reasonable effort to resolve the matter through direct communication.
